Lance Harrell was welcomed as principal of O.W. Dillon Elementary by Tangipahoa Parish Superintendent Mark Kolwe and School Board Member Ann Smith.
Tangipahoa Parish School Superintendent Mark Kolwe informed board members and the public during Tuesday night's regular school board meeting that Lance Harrell is the new principal at O.W. Dillon Elementary.
Board members listened to public input from Irma Gordon and Collis Temple prior to the announcement being made. Gordon pleaded for Janet Vernon to be named, while Collis Temple supported whatever decision the board made to find the right person for the Kentwood school.
Harrell takes the reins and will begin planning his new school year at O. W. Dillon immediately. Harrell is coming to Kentwood from his position as assistant principal at Ponchatoula Jr. High.
