On March 23 Jodi Catherine Conrad married David Michael Champagne in a romantic natural greenery French Quarter-style courtyard setting. Officiating the double ring ceremony at the Fleur de Lis Event Center in Mandeville was the Honorable Blair D. Edwards.
The sounding of "Make Your Feel My Love," sung by Will Vance, heralded the arrival of the bride as she entered the courtyard on the arm of her father, Joe Conrad Jr. Other vocal renditions were sung by Denise Michael.
John Conrad, brother of the bride, delivered the opening prayer to begin the meaningful ceremony.
The bride was radiant in her custom vintage Casablanca gown of beaded ivory lace applique over a lace champagne satin filled silk matte. The skirt of the unique gown flared at the bottom with accents of Swarovski crystals and pearls. The flattering neckline was a strapline was a strapless sweetheart design. Her exquisite veil was a vintage ivory Russian tulle face cage bridal hat with scattered Swarovski crystal and a spray of feathers.
Perfectly accenting the bridal attire was Jodi's jewelry selection of antique-inspired Sorrelli Crystal necklace, bracelet and ear rings. Ambiance Flowers created and designed the bridal bouquet with large Cymbidium Orchids, Quick and Roses, cream liseanthsis and white hydrangeas, with Jodi's grandmother, Mrs. Katie Conrad's crystal rosary entwined among the flowers and draping down gracefully.
Her special "something old" memento was her grandmother's wedding band. Jodi's "something blue" was "I Do" in blue rhinestones on the bottom of her shoes. Her mother's linen handkerchief was tucked in her bouquet for her "something borrowed."
Serving as Matron of Honor was the sister of the bride, Michelle Nunez Scott and the bride's Maid of Honor was her lifelong friend Hope Schilling.
Bridesmaids were Allyson Champagne, sister of the groom, Jennifer Sanderson Jones, Keri Beth Sitman and Amanda Brooks Stevens, all friends of the bride. The bridesmaids were attired in Walters Collections knee length buff colored crinkle chiffon dressed with black accessories. The precious flower girl was Jayda Conrad, niece of the bride.
Honorary bridesmaids were Hannah Anderson, Jenna Vaughn Blades, and Nicole Finch, friends of the bride.
The groom's sleek black contemporary tuxedo was accented by a champagne colored vest and bow tie. He wore a Quick Sand Rose boutonniere.
David chose two of his friends, Kelly Faciane and John Dinezo to serve his best men. The groomsmen were Josh Musselman, Jake Saltich, and Dustin Stevens, all friends of the groom.
Serving as ushers were Jason Champagne, brother of the groom and John Conrad and Chris Conrad, brothers of the bride. Nephews of the bride, Ethan and Kade Conrad were the bell ringers and Jodi's godchild and nephew, Chase Scott was the official ringbearer.
A gala reception followed the ceremony at the Fleu de Lis Event Center, where guests danced for hours to the music of "Stormy Band." The bride's cake was a four-tiered, champagne colored butter cream icing with "Fleur de Lis" accents, made by Sugar Custom Cakes and Pastries. The groom's cake was chocolate, from Zoe's.
As friends and relatives rejoiced over the happy and lavish occasion, the newlyweds left on their honeymoon at Couple's Sauci Resort in Jamaica. The happy couple will be residing in Hammond.
Jodi is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Conrad Jr. of Amite. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Champagne III of Slidell.
