Friday, August 20 all Tangipahoa Parish libraries will be closed for a staff In-Service Day at the Hammond Branch. This is a time for library staff to receiving training, become familiar with new policies and procedures and learn about new trends in the new library world. As many staff at the branches don't usually get to work with colleagues at other branches, it is also a time for library employees to become better acquainted. "It's a time to improve morale. A staff that feels good about itself will better serve the public," said Barry Bradford, Director of the Tangipahoa Parish Library. "Employees who work in branches and Technical Services will also have a chance to explain to us in Administration what they think is working or not working."

A Friday was chosen as branch statistics show that day of the week to have the least circulation and visits. Normal library hours will resume on Saturday, August 21. Those who have questions about our In-Service Day can call or stop by their local library.
