BATON ROUGE – Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) has invited Father M. Jeffery Bayhi to deliver the invocation for the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday, July 19.

The invocation will be at approximately 11 a.m. CST and can be viewed on C-SPAN either here or on local television.

Father Bayhi is the Pastor of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Zachary and its mission church Our Lady of the Assumption in Clinton. He is the CEO of Closer Walk Ministries and has authored several books. He also focuses on retreats and continuing religious education for Catholics of all ages. Finally, he served with Mother Teresa and the Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta.

Members of the House of Representatives are allowed to invite only one person every term to deliver the daily invocation.
