“Birthday, Hap-day!” Gene Mears of Highway 10 near Clinton, December 7; Stacey Sessions Taylor of Jacksonville, Florida, and Lana Ardillo Woodard of Highway 37 South of Greensburg, both share December 10; Chauntel “Prissy” Allen Snoddy of Highway 63, near Grangeville, and Cindy Herzog of Amite, both December 11; and, my cousin, Tommy Wallace, of Livingston, December 12.

Cameron Bass’ special day was November 28. Hope he had a great day! Cameron resides in Grangeville. He’s the grandson of Dale and Joyce (Womack) Bass of Bluff Creek. Anita Moerbe of Taylor, Texas celebrated her birthday on November 27. She’s Philip’s youngest sis. Hope she had a great day, also!

Congrats, Mildred Cyprain, on being elected St. Helena Clerk of Court, and to all the other elected officials!

Shirley Ann Miller of Grangeville had a house full over Thanksgiving. All her children and their families arrived on Wednesday and stayed through Sunday. They included her son, A. J. Jones and his wife, Carrie, from Alpharetta, Georgia, Alicia Jones Woods and son, Sid, of Cumming, Georgia; Abby Jones and fiance, Bryan Woods, also from Cumming. Her oldest daughter, Amy Jones Dawkins and sons, Jordan and Nathan Pace, of Jasper, Georgia weren’t able to make the trip. While here, they visited their “Aunt Frannie” on Jessie Stone Road. Also, their Uncle Eddie of Denham Springs came by. All in all, it was a blessed Thanksgiving for everyone!

Blessings to the Gulf Coast Recovery Grant for meeting the needs of the St. Helena Central Parish Schools with grant funds. The schools sure are looking great!

Way to go, St. Helena Central Middle students, learning more about science!

Kudos to those who came to the aid of the Earnest Graham family. There’ll be plenty of stars in your crown!

Three-year old Ka’Tyra Rheams sure is a “cutie patootie” in her Echo photo, in her pretty green “get up”!

Lookin’ good, St. Helena Central High senior football players and families!

Our hearts were saddened to hear of the home-going of Brother Edwin Manchester, formerly of Grangeville. Brother Ed, as we called him, started our church, which were New Jerusalem, now known as Living Word Christian Centre, in, I believe, it was 1979. There was also a New Jerusalem School of which he was the principal. A lot of people, too many to name, was involved with the school. We will surely miss Brother Ed, but at least we know that he’s with Jesus, and not suffering anymore. Also, pray for the families who’ve lost these loved ones: Billy Hammers, Judy Seacrest Jones, and Thomas Wells, Jr. Jesus loves you greatly.

The apostle Paul tells in Romans 8:31-39, that God has a heart of love for us.

Nothing is able to separate us from the enduring love of our Lord. “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (v.31). Whatever our stresses or concerns, the heart of God is the place to “rest into”. Leave it all with Him, “for He cares for you” (1 Pet 5:7). When you’re weary in life’s struggles, you find your rest in Jesus! Amen!
