Celebrating her 24th birthday was Chauntel “Prissy” Allen Snoddy, Sunday, December 11. Prissy was honored at the Golden Corral restaurant in McComb, Saturday, by her parents, Rita and Charles Allen of Easleyville. Then, on Sunday, she was honored by Nathan’s parents, Fran and Philip, on Jessie Stone Road, with a Boston Creme Cake, hamburgers, and all the trimmings. Prissy had a blessed and lovely day!
Way to go, St. Helena Central Middle Junior Lady Hawks in your first basketball win over Kennilworth Middle School!
Also, congrats, Amite Warriors on your 4th title win against Notre Dame in the school’s history, 21-14!
Merry Christmas, Mr. Milo Nickel! That was a very inspirational and moving column about “The Glass of Milk”. Keep on keepin’ on!
The St. Helena Central Elementary sure seemed to be getting into their Fall Festival. And that’s alright!
It hurt my heart to hear about the passing of Johnny Conti. I met Johnny when I was employed with the Tangi Talk in Amite. I believe he was, at that time, employed with Amite Sunflower. He eventually was also employed with Ardillo’s. And, I believe, he also managed the Amite National Supermarket. I know he managed the Clinton Sunflower. Anyway, I was saddened to hear about his home-going.
Also, love and prayers are extended to these families in their loss of these loved ones, Cheryl McGraw Ashford, Leo Givens, Ella Bennett Crawford, Joyce Watson, Michael Moore, and Herbert Woodard, Sr. Keep these families in your comforting prayers.
It’s easy for us to get lost in “ant world” -- to be so busy with our routines that we miss the joy of personally embracing the bigger picture of God’s great work in our lives. Let’s get out of “ant world” and engage our hearts and lives in spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. “Lord, I love you and want to be a part of your work. Give me an open heart to know what opportunities you want me to be a part of and wisdom in knowing how to carry them out.” Don’t allow smaller things to distract you from doing a bigger work for God! Amen and Amen!
