--Richard Grisoli, Hammond, graduated from the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine with a Master of Health Administration degree.
--Robin Levine, Hammond graduated from the School of Continuing Studies with a Certificate degree.
--Aaron Harrelson, Independence graduated from the School of Liberal Arts with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
They were among 2700 other graduates at Tulane's graduation at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
The ceremony featured keynote speaker Lisa p. Jackson, administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. Honorary degree recipients included civil rights icon Ruby Bridges and mathematician Peter D. Lax. New Orleans Jazz musician Trey "Trombone Shorty" Andrews received the Tulane University President's Medal.
Sharkey and his fellow class members were honored at the ceremony which included all the pomp and circumstance of traditional commencement but with a New Orleans twist, including bagpipes, herald trumpets and a second-line jazz procession. Music was provided by Dr. Michael White's Original Liberty Jazz Band and jazz singer Wanda Rottzan.
