HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University football coach Ron Roberts will be one of two new college football coaches who will highlight the first meeting of the 74th year of the Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club that begins Monday at Manning’s Restaurant (519 Fulton Street) in the Harrah’s Hotel Complex.
Roberts, who was named the Lions’ 15th head coach in December 2011, will be joined by new Tulane head coach Curtis Johnson, LSU Coordinator of Football Relations and External Relations Charlie Baglio, O. Perry Walker head coach Emanuel Powell and former New Orleans Saints Pro Bowl performer Michael Lewis.
Roberts, who posted a 47-16 record in five seasons at Division II Delta State, will give an outlook to the Lions’ 2012 season that begins Saturday as Southeastern will open the season against SEC newcomer Missouri in Columbia, Mo.
Admission is $18 for members, in honor of Archie Manning's college jersey number and $25 for non-members. Membership for the season is $50 for 16 weeks, running every Monday from August 27-December 10, with the exception of meeting on Tuesday, September 4, due to Labor Day.
Parking is in the Harrah's Hotel self-park garage on Convention Center Blvd., attached to the hotel. Patrons can take a parking card and bring it into the restaurant to be validated.
