On June 13, four Ville Platte Probation and Parole officers were sworn in as special deputy U.S. Marshals at the federal courthouse building in Lafayette for Operation Falcon. Officers Clarence Vidrine, Kyle Doucet, Kent Fontenot and Jason Latiolais were among dozens of state, parish and city officers that participated in this ceremony and briefing.

Operation Falcon was part of a national effort by the U.S. Marshals’ Service from June 15, to June 21, to apprehend fugitives wanted as sex offenders, gang members, violent offenders and absconders form justice. Twelve teams of officers, working the Acadiana area, arrested 193 fugitives during this one-week period.
