IOTA-A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, July 14, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota at 10:00 AM for Isaac Cormier, Jr., 74, who passed away on Friday, July 11, 2008 at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley. Father Mikel Polson will be the Celebrant with Rite of Committal to follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Iota. Isaac was a United States Navy Veteran.
He was a Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, survived by his wife, Mona D. Cormier of Iota; five sons, Braylon Cormier and Perry Stanford both of Iota, Bryant Cormier of Eunice, Bryan Cormier of Egan, Stuart Cormier of Sulphur; a daughter, Amy S. LeBlanc of Iota; a brother, Lester Cormier of Port Arthur, TX; four sisters, Shirley Dietz, Jeanette Cormier and Ethel Smith all of Eunice, Verna Douget of Elton; four special grandchildren, Dillon Launey, Brianne Stanford, Shanna Thomas, and Laurie Manuel; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. All who knew and loved him will miss him dearly.
His parents, Isaac and Angelle Doucet Cormier, Sr; two daughters, Sandy Cormier, Roxie Stanford; a brother, Curley Cormier, and a sister, Genevieve Fontenot, preceded him in death.
Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Iota was in charge of arrangements.
