The Tangipahoa Parish Library begins its Summer Reading Program this month at all of its branches. All programs are free and open to the the public.

The June schedule is as follows:

June 3 - Philip Melancon presents "Melon Songs" in Amite at 10:00 a.m. and in Kentwood at 2:00 p.m..

June 4 - Busy Bees/Fran the Fair Frog will be in Independence at 2:00 p.m..

June 5 - Philip Melancon presents "Melon Songs" in Loranger at 2:00 p.m..

June 8 - Characters Two presents "A Garden of Stories" in Independence at 2:00 p.m..

June 10 - Characters Two presents "A Garden of Stories" in Amite at 10:00 a.m. and in Kentwood at 2:00 p.m..

June 11 - Ms. Virginia reads "Once Upon a Time" in Independence at 2:00 p.m..

June 12 - Characters Two presents "A Garden of Stories" in Loranger at 2:00 p.m..

June 16 - Calliope Puppets perform "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" in Amite at 10:00 a.m. and in Independence at 2:00 p.m..

June 17 - Fire Truck/Kentwood Fire Department will be in Kentwood at 2:00 p.m..

June 18 - "Ronald McDonald" will be read for storytime in Independence at 2:00 p.m..

June 19 - Storytime in Loranger at 2:00 p.m..

June 22 - Ms. Vee presents "Stories of the World for the Children of the World" in Independence at 2:00 p.m..

June 24 - Ms. Vee presents "Stories of the World for the Children of the World" in Amite at 10:00 a.m. and in Kentwood at 2:00 p.m..

June 25 - "McGruff, the Crime Dog" for storytime in Independence at 2:00 p.m..

June 26 - Ms. Vee presents "Stories of the World for the Children of the World" in Loranger at 2:00 p.m..

June 30 - GrayHawk presents "History Unfolds" in Independence at 2:00 p.m..
