Minutes of the Board of Commissioners of Gravity Drainage District No. 4 of Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, held on Monday, July 26, 2010, at the regular meeting place, City Hall, Amite, Louisiana.
The Board of Commissioners of Gravity Drainage District No. 4 of Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana met on the above date in regular session and was called to order by the President, Mr. Salvador Genusa, at 4:30 p.m. o'clock with the following members present.
Present: Salvador Genusa, Anthony Lascaro, James C. Ricks, Thomas Stevens, Wayne Johnson
The President then called on Mr. Ricks to voice the invocation.
The roll call showed a quorum to be present. Whereupon a motion was made by Mr. Lascaro duly seconded by Mr. Johnson and unanimously carried that the reading of the minutes of the last regular meeting dated June 28, 2010, be dispensed with and that they be adopted as of record and published in the official journal.
The Secretary presented the bills in the amount of $7185.69 for canal maintenance, material, supplies, contract labor, printing, etc. Whereupon a motion was made by Mr. Stevens, duly seconded by Mr. Ricks, and unanimously carried that the payment of the bills be authorized and approved.
The financial report on the general condition of the district was given, and a motion was made by Mr. Johnson, duly seconded by Mr. Stevens, and unanimously carried that the report of the treasurer be approved and accepted.
On motion by Mr. Lascaro, duly seconded by Mr. Johnson, and unanimously carried, the secretary was instructed to write a letter to the DEQ in reference to the issue previously discussed concerning complaints being made about the muddy water being pumped into the No. 1 canal at location off Old US 51 on McCoy Road.
It has been brought to the board's attention that spraying will begin soon by Louisiana Vegetation on main canals and more difficult trouble locations discussed previously.
Upon a complaint call received by Ms. Eunice Johnson, on motion by Mr. Ricks, duly seconded by Mr. Stevens, and unanimously carried, Calvin Graham and his crew were instructed to cut and clean problem canals in Roseland, Louisiana.
No further business appearing, on motion by Mr. Genusa, duly seconded by Mr. Ricks, and unanimously carried, the board adjourned.
