A Frozen Tomato
I love a good tomato sandwich. Or, being a southerner I occasionally pronounce it “‘mater sandwich.” Whether you pronounce it correctly or with a southern accent, a ‘mater sandwich is good. And, if you add some Blue-Plate mayonnaise, it’s really good. I know… when you add “mayo,” that ‘mater sandwich might not be as healthy as it is if it’s just the ‘mater on a piece of bread. This past week, I was making a sandwich. There was a tomato in the refrigerator that I had previously cut and put face down in a bowl and back into the fridge.
So, I pulled the bowl out and got the tomato out. I took the knife and began to slice the tomato but it was kind of hard to slice it. Then I realized, part of the tomato was frozen. So, I went ahead and sliced it and put it on the piece of bread. Then, I took my sandwich with the frozen tomato and put it in the microwave to soften the tomato up. As I did, I told Holli, “I’ve never had to microwave a tomato.”
