Lagniappe & Leftovers

August Activities Part 2

Was I ever surprised to learn we are at the end of the dog days of summer and not the beginning! The DDOS officially end this Friday when Sirius, the Dog Star, makes its appearance at sunrise. Who else will tell you these things? I thought it was later, but then realized I was confusing it with the pleasant days of Indian Summer.

It just so happens this is a very busy week locally. The Class of 1967 is gathering for the 50-year celebration of their graduation from dear old Amite High School. The class will reunite privately between 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Blythewood. They will then graciously welcome other school mates from 7:30-9:00 p.m. "Hail to your colors, dear high school, and long may they wave over you." Purple and gold and Warriors forever!
