Looking At The Sky
A week ago this past Monday, we experienced a rare event; a total solar eclipse. A solar eclipse takes place when the moon passes between the sun and the earth thus, completely or partially blocking the sun’s rays from the earth. So, for about an hour or two on Monday afternoon, people stood outside and looked up into the sky with protective glasses made for the eclipse.
That is not the last time people will look into the sky. I Thessalonians 4:16 says, “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God…” So, one day, Jesus Christ will return to earth and when it happens, He will split the eastern sky. All over the world, people will look into the sky and watch as Jesus Christ returns.
The Bible says that when Jesus returns, those who are believers in Christ will be caught up into the clouds. And, those who are nonbelievers will be left on earth and will face punishment.
