TPSO News Release 8.1 - Arrest
PONCHATOULA, LA - August 1, 2018 - The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office arrested two employees of the ResCare Assisted Living facility in Ponchatoula, LA. accused of inciting the beating of a 22-year-old resident.
Yesterday, 20-year-old Latricia Johnson, of Ponchatoula, and 30-year-old Tykeshia Berry, of Hammond, were booked into the parish jail on charges of cruelty to the infirmed, being a principle parties to an aggravated second degree battery and criminal conspiracy.
On April 28, 2018, a resident of the ResCare Assisted Living facility was attacked by another resident causing serious injuries to his face and leg. Both females accused were on duty at the time the attach occurred and are alleged to have neglected to obtain any form of medical treatment for the victim. Allegations surfaced during the investigation that the two women instructed, encourage and cheered on the resident as he attached the victim.
This investigation is on-going. It's possible that additional parties involved in this incident will also face criminal charges.
