TPSO News Release - 8.1 - Arrest

PONCHATOULA, LA - (August 1, 2018) - Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the arrest of 33-year-old Phillip Bishop with a last known address in Ponchatoula, LA.

Bishop has been charged with one count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle after stealing a 2016 Toyota Camry from a friend on July 23, 2018. Days later the vehicle was located on Skylar Lane in the Ponchatoula.

In joint-efforts between the TPSO and the Ponchatoula Police Department, it was discovered that Bishop used the stolen vehicle to commit several car burglaries and one armed robbery in the Ponchatoula area.

33-year-old Bishop was consequently in the St. Tammany Parish Jail on unrelated charges at the time it was learned that he was the accused in aforementioned crimes. Charges were sent over the St. Tammany Parish Jail where he was booked accordingly.

This investigation in on-going with additional arrests pending.
