Justin and Stephanie Morel still laughing about their wedding day

As a child I always loved Natchez and the antebellum homes. When I was planning my wedding, I knew I wanted to get married in one. I searched and searched until I came across Rosswood Plantation in Lorman, Mississippi about 20 minutes north of Natchez. The home was situated at the end of a long driveway and was the site of an actual Civil War battle,

"The Battle of the Cotton Bales." It was the typical two story Greek Revival home with large columns in front. It was absolutely perfect. The owners of the home were a retired couple in their 70's and so happy we chose their home for our wedding. We had decided on just our immediate family for the wedding and chose December 8, 2001 as our wedding day. We traveled to Lorman the day before to plan out the few details of the wedding. The owners of Rosswood had secured a local minister to perform the ceremony and since the house was already decorated for Christmas we didn't have to worry about decorations. My in-laws were bringing the wedding cake and my parents were bringing my bouquet. We had everything set. Little did we know the next day would be a day we would never forget.
