911 system implemented in St. Helena
From the St. Helena Parish Police Jury and Office of Homeland Security, effective July 11, 2018, ALL EMERGENCY calls must be accessed by dialing 911. In order to better serve the community, St. Helena has began dispatching all emergency services (medical and fire) through a new state-of-the-art emergency system. Any emergency calls made directly to the St. Helena Sheriff’s Office will be delayed. The new emergency response system employs Computer Aided Dispatch that will give first responders more accurate information and data. The goal is to provide a faster response and a higher level of service to the community. This system is just one of many steps planned for the parish. Any residents with questions are asked to contact St. Helena Parish Government at 225-222-6588.
