Dwight V. Casanova, Sr., a resident of Amite passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at his home. He was born February 9, 1933 in Amite and was 85 years of age. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, a retired dairy farmer, a retired school bus driver and a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Verma Hoover Casanova; daughter, Lana Casanova; two sons, Dwight V. Casanova, Jr. and Michael W. Casanova; two granddaughters, Erica and Jessica Casanova; two brothers, Austin J. Casanova and John W. Casanova, all of Amite. Preceded in death by parents, Monroe and Virena H. Casanova. The family would like to thank New Century Hospice and Prime Care Home Health for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to your favorite charity. Private graveside services were held at St. Dominic Cemetery, Husser, on Monday, July 2, 2018. Services were conducted by Deacon Michael Agnello.
